We’re proud to support the national ‘Hello, my name is...’ campaign – showing that compassion in care matters and improves our patients’ experience.
Colleagues will aim to introduce themselves to the patients and visitors they come into contact with - a simple and kind gesture that goes a long way to put people at ease in hospital. Showing that we believe in providing exceptional patient care – our core mission.
Dr Kate Granger was a final-year registrar in Elderly Medicine at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and also a patient at the Trust.
Based on her experiences of being a patient and a doctor, Kate launched #hellomynameis – a social media campaign which is about healthcare workers introducing themselves to patients.
More than that it’s about seeing the person behind the condition, making a human connection, and building trust. This simple idea has been hugely successful, resonating with people not just in the UK but across the world.
Kate has left an incredible legacy, including raising over £350,000 for Leeds Cares in support of the Leeds Cancer Centre.
